England Women Sunday: Hampstead v Surbiton Headlines Six-Game Premier Division Card
Sunday belongs to the women in England’s top flight, with six Premier Division games spread across the afternoon. The pick of the card is at Paddington Recreation Ground, where Hampstead & Westminster host Surbiton at 2:00pm UK time, 7:00pm PKT.
That’s the game to circle. Hampstead and Surbiton are two of the clubs that expect to be in the mix when the season gets serious, and a Sunday win here sets the tone for the weeks ahead. Surbiton’s men were in ruthless form on Saturday, hitting nine, and the club will want the women to bring the same energy to west London.
The rest of the card is just as busy. Buckingham host the University of Nottingham at Stowe School at noon UK time, 5:00pm PKT. East Grinstead welcome Reading to their sports club at 1:00pm UK time, 6:00pm PKT, in a game between two sides who know each other inside out. Wimbledon host Durham University at Raynes Park at 1:30pm UK time, 6:30pm PKT.
The two 2:00pm UK time starts, 7:00pm PKT, complete the set. Loughborough Students host the University of Birmingham at Loughborough University, and Teddington welcome Bowdon to Teddington School. Student sides against established clubs always have a bit of extra spice, and both home teams will fancy their chances in front of their own crowds.
It all comes a day after the men’s Round 5 action, where Surbiton’s men and Old Georgians grabbed the headlines. Now it’s the women’s turn to shape their own table. Six games, six sets of points, and by Sunday evening we’ll know a lot more about who means business this season.Related:
