Hoofdklasse Round 6 Sunday: Bloemendaal’s Trip to Oranje-Rood Headlines Six Games
The Dutch Hoofdklasse saves its best for Sunday, and Round 6 is no different. Six games, all on Sunday afternoon in the Netherlands, with the headline act in Eindhoven: Oranje-Rood against Bloemendaal.
That’s a proper top-end test. Bloemendaal have been ruthless so far, including a 9-1 win over Schaerweijde and a 3-2 win at Klein Zwitserland. Oranje-Rood, though, are no pushovers at home. They’ve already beaten Klein Zwitserland 4-1 and edged HDM 4-3, so they know how to win tight games. If Bloemendaal win here, it sends a message. If Oranje-Rood hold them, the title race stays wide open.
The Amsterdamse Bos hosts the other big one. Pinoke take on Kampong in Amstelveen, and both sides need the points for different reasons. Pinoke have drawn with Klein Zwitserland 3-3 and lost narrowly to Den Bosch, so they’re competitive but not yet converting. Kampong have beaten Rotterdam 5-3 and SCHC 3-0, and they look like a side that can score against anyone. Goals feel likely in this one.
Elsewhere, Rotterdam host Tilburg, and the visitors desperately need something. Tilburg have lost every game so far, including 7-1 at Oranje-Rood and 6-1 at home to Kampong, so Rotterdam will see this as a must-win in front of their own fans. HDM host Den Bosch, Klein Zwitserland host Amsterdam, and Schaerweijde host SCHC to complete the card.
Amsterdam’s own form makes that Klein Zwitserland trip interesting. They’ve beaten Den Bosch 4-1 and Tilburg 5-0, and they edged Pinoke 2-1, so they travel as favourites. But Klein Zwitserland drew 2-2 with HDM and 3-3 with Pinoke, so they don’t roll over.
By Sunday evening, Round 6 will be done and the table will have a much clearer shape. Bloemendaal against Oranje-Rood is the game that could define it.Related:
