Belgium's Red Lions celebrate together

Ducks Hit Five at Daring as Braxgata Win at Racing in Belgium

Sunday in Belgium belonged to the away teams, mostly. All six men’s games are in the books, and the defending champions did what champions are supposed to do on trips like this.

Waterloo Ducks went to Daring and won 5-1. No drama, no dropped points. That’s the kind of result that keeps a title defence on track, and it puts real pressure on everyone else at the top.

Braxgata also won on the road, 2-1 at Racing. That’s a big three points in the race for the play-off places, because Racing are exactly the kind of side you need to beat away from home if you want to finish in the top four. Herakles, meanwhile, won 4-1 at Namur, who lost again and stay rooted in trouble.

The two draws were both entertaining. Dragons and Beerschot shared eight goals in a 4-4, and Orée’s first league game since their European trip ended 1-1 against Uccle Sport. A draw isn’t a disaster for a side coming back from Europe, but Orée will want to start turning these into wins soon, because draws don’t climb tables. Their postponed game against Braxgata on Thursday 29 October is the next one to circle.

The late game settled the top of the table: Léopold beat Gantoise 2-0, and that puts Léopold top on 17 points, one ahead of the Ducks. So the story of Sunday is simple: the Ducks did their job, Braxgata and Herakles took their chances on the road, and Léopold finished the night where everyone else wants to be.
