The Gran Canaria side’s women played Club Egara away on Saturday, and on Sunday they go again, this time against CD Terrassa. Two games, two days, both against Terrassa clubs, both away from home. That’s the kind of weekend that tests a squad’s depth more than its starting seven.
It’s a quirk of the Spanish calendar more than anything else, but it’s a proper test all the same. Egara and Terrassa are two of the strongest club names in Spanish hockey, and playing them back to back, on the road, is about as tough as a league weekend gets. For Taburiente, coming home with anything from either game would count as a good weekend. Coming home with something from both would be a story.
