Hoofdklasse Men Round 7: Den Bosch Hit Eight, Kampong Edge Schaerweijde, Pinoké Win a Seven-Goal Thriller
Sunday’s men’s Hoofdklasse round was not short on goals, and the biggest number of the day came in Den Bosch. The home side put eight past Klein Zwitserland in an 8-1 win that will have the rest of the league sitting up. That’s not a win, that’s a statement.
The tightest win of the day came in Utrecht, where Kampong edged Schaerweijde 1-0. One goal, three points, clean sheet. Those are the wins that keep a season on track, and Kampong will be happy enough with that kind of afternoon.
Tilburg and Pinoké shared seven goals between them, and it was the visitors who took the points, winning 4-3. A one-goal away win in a game like that takes some nerve, and Pinoké showed it when it mattered.
Oranje-Rood also won on the road, beating Rotterdam 2-1. Rotterdam at home are never an easy out, so that’s a serious three points for the visitors. And SCHC beat HDM 4-2 at home, two goals the difference in another high-scoring afternoon.
The one draw of the round came in Amsterdam, where the home side and Bloemendaal finished 2-2. Neither side could find a winner, and both will probably feel they left two points out there.
Round 7 scores in full: Amsterdam 2-2 Bloemendaal, Den Bosch 8-1 Klein Zwitserland, Kampong 1-0 Schaerweijde, Rotterdam 1-2 Oranje-Rood, SCHC 4-2 HDM, Tilburg 3-4 Pinoké.
