Colby-Sawyer Beat Rivier 4-1 to Reach the GNAC Semi-Finals
Colby-Sawyer didn’t waste their top seeding. The Chargers opened their Great Northeast Athletic Conference playoff run on Saturday with a 4-1 quarter-final win over eighth-seeded Rivier at Sally Shaw Veitch Track and Field in New London, New Hampshire.
It took a while to break through. The first quarter finished scoreless, with both defences holding firm. Then, at 18:39 of the second quarter, senior Abby Olden fed junior Brooke Farquhar in the circle, and Farquhar tucked away the opener. That was the goal that settled Colby-Sawyer, and they went on to win 4-1 and book a semi-final place.
Short, sharp, and job done. The Chargers are through, and the GNAC semi-finals are next.
