Correction: CHL Semi-Finals Are on Sunday, Not Saturday, in Raipur

Heads up if you were planning a Saturday trip to Raipur: the CHL semi-finals aren’t on Saturday.

The latest IANS report from Friday night is clear. As the top qualifiers, Nyayadhani Knights take on Sanskardhani Strikers on Sunday at 5:30pm local time (5:00pm PKT), followed by Bailadila Bulls against Mainpat Titans at 7:30pm local time (7:00pm PKT). That replaces the original fixture listing, which had the semi-finals on Saturday 31 October at the same times. Saturday’s diary on this site carried that original listing, and it needs correcting. Do not travel on the Saturday version.

The pairings themselves haven’t changed, and they were earned the hard way on Friday. Bailadila Bulls thrashed Chakradhar Champions 6-2 in the last league game, a win they simply had to have, with Jaskaran Singh scoring four and Anand opening the scoring inside the first minute. That result also confirmed the fourth semi-finalist: Sanskardhani Strikers, who had already beaten Mainpat Titans 4-0 thanks to an Ashish Tani Purti hat-trick that took his tournament tally to 12 goals, went through on goal difference once the Bulls won.

One thing is now unclear and worth flagging plainly. The league’s original announcement had the final scheduled for Sunday 1 November as well, which can’t sit alongside Sunday evening semi-finals. The latest IANS report doesn’t give a new final date, so the final timing needs confirmation from the league before anyone plans around it. The semi-finals, though, are settled: Sunday, 5:30pm local time (5:00pm PKT) and 7:30pm local time (7:00pm PKT), at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Hockey Stadium in Raipur.
