Hoofdklasse Women Round 7: Amsterdam Hit Seven, Den Bosch Win at SCHC, HDM Edge Victoria
Sunday’s women’s Hoofdklasse round had a bit of everything: a seven-goal rout, a big away win in the top-of-the-table race, and a one-goal thriller. Here’s how Round 7 finished.
The headline score came in Amsterdam, where the home side ran up a 7-0 win over Bloemendaal. Seven goals, none conceded, and a statement that Amsterdam aren’t messing about this season. Bloemendaal, for their part, will want that one wiped from memory fast.
The result with the most riding on it was at Bilthoven, where Den Bosch won 2-0 away at SCHC. That’s a hard place to go and win, and a clean sheet on top of it makes it a proper away performance. SCHC came into the weekend as one of the sides setting the pace, so Den Bosch taking all three points there shakes the top of the table up nicely.
Kampong also enjoyed a comfortable afternoon, beating HGC 6-0 at home. No messing about there either, six goals and a shutout.
The tightest game of the day was at Victoria, where HDM edged the home side 4-3. Seven goals shared between two sides who both fancied it, and HDM coming out on top by the odd goal. That’s the kind of win that keeps a season moving.
Elsewhere, Hurley won 2-0 away at Oranje-Rood, a clean sheet on the road and three points that Oranje-Rood won’t have budgeted for dropping at home. And Rotterdam and Pinoké shared the points in a 2-2 draw, neither side able to find a winner.
Round 7 scores in full: Amsterdam 7-0 Bloemendaal, Kampong 6-0 HGC, Oranje-Rood 0-2 Hurley, Rotterdam 2-2 Pinoké, SCHC 0-2 Den Bosch, Victoria 3-4 HDM.
