Washington & Lee Blank Lynchburg 2-0 to Win First ODAC Title Since 2022
Revenge is sweetest when it comes with a trophy.
Washington & Lee beat Lynchburg 2-0 in the ODAC final on Saturday, winning their fifth conference title and their first since 2022. Lynchburg had beaten them in overtime in the regular season. The final was a different story.
Zoe Dolfis and Margaret Cover scored both goals in the second quarter, and that was that. Goalkeeper Helenka Chodakiewicz made three saves for the shutout, and Lynchburg never found a way back in.
It’s the Generals’ fifth ODAC crown, and it books their place in the NCAA Tournament. After losing the regular-season meeting in overtime, they turned the final into a controlled, professional win. That’s what good teams do when it matters.
For our money, a defence that keeps a clean sheet in a final travels well into the NCAA Tournament. Washington & Lee will be a tough out for anyone.
