Saint Francis Hit 10 in Wednesday Rout of Washington & Jefferson

Ten goals. None conceded. Wednesday night in Loretto was not close.

Saint Francis beat Washington & Jefferson 10-0 in their final home game of the season, and the scoring was shared around like a training drill: seven different scorers, three assists each for two players, and a hat-trick on top.

Hanna Capo led it with three goals, her first at 12:04, from eight shots with seven on target. Avery Bradburn scored twice (2:23 and 56:36) and added three assists. Ryan Engleman scored her first collegiate goal at 22:08 and also finished with three assists. MacKenzie Kovalski’s first collegiate goal came at 49:04. Macy Schultz and Emilie Gamache added their second goals of the season, T Ciaccia scored too, and goalkeeper Madison Morrison needed only five saves to keep the clean sheet.

First career goals, a hat-trick, ten on the board: as final home games go, that’s the deluxe edition. The catch is what comes next. Saint Francis close their season on Saturday away at No. 3 Christopher Newport (3:00pm ET), about as sharp a step up in level as college hockey offers. Wednesday was the celebration. Saturday is the exam.
