Great Britain and England Are Advertising for a Senior Women’s Head Coach
One of the biggest jobs in women’s hockey is being advertised, and the clock on it is short.
Great Britain and England Hockey’s recruitment pack for a Senior Women Head Coach is live. The role is based at Bisham Abbey and leads the programme for the Los Angeles Olympic cycle and beyond, working with the Performance Director. Applications go to England Hockey’s careers inbox and close on 1 November 2026, with a first round of interviews online on 12 November and a second round in person on 25 November.
Whoever gets it walks into a serious job. England and Great Britain’s women are a top-eight side with an Olympic cycle that runs through the first 12-team European Championships on home soil in London next summer, so the new coach’s first big tournament is a home one, with everything that brings.
One caution, because it matters: the pack itself doesn’t frame this as a sacking or a resignation story, and there’s been no separate announcement to dress up. What we can say is what’s in front of us. The job is open, the deadline is 1 November, and the LA cycle starts now. Coaching clarity is a theme in English hockey this week — on the men’s side we checked the record on who actually coaches England and GB.
