One Point in It: Saint-Germain Edge the French Women’s Summit

The top-of-the-table clash in France’s Elite Dames finished the only way it could: tight. Lille 1-1 Saint-Germain, Eve Vervura for the hosts, Ella Dumont for the leaders, and still one point between them.

Saint-Germain stay top on 14 points. Lille have 13, level with Iris Lambersart, who beat Cambrai 2-0 to keep the pressure on. Lille do have a game in hand, pencilled in for 1 November, so this race is far from settled.

Elsewhere Polo HCM thumped Wattignies 4-0, Montrouge beat Racing 3-0, and Lyon won the basement battle 3-1 against Villa Primrose, who are now alone at the bottom.

Our take

Saint-Germain will take the point and the lead. But Lille with a game in hand is the kind of detail that keeps coaches awake at night. This one goes to the winter break.
