San Fernando 6-1 Ducilo, Banco Provincia Draw Mitre: Both Book Direct Metropolitano Semi-Finals
Two teams can put their feet up while everyone else fights through the quarter-finals.
San Fernando hammered Ducilo 6-1 in the recovered Fecha 10 round of the Torneo Metropolitano men’s second phase, and Banco Provincia’s 3-3 draw with Mitre was enough to get them over the line too. Both are straight into the semi-finals on the weekend of 14-15 November, no quarter-final needed.
San Fernando didn’t just qualify, they made a statement. Six goals against a Ducilo side that is still heading to the playoffs tells you where the form is in Buenos Aires right now.
The rest of the round
Quilmes edged Universitario de La Plata 4-3 in the round’s other thriller, and San Martín beat Santa Bárbara 1-0 in the result with the biggest consequences at the bottom. That win lifts San Martín clear of the relegation play-off. Lomas aren’t so lucky: they’ll have to play the repechaje to keep their place in the top flight next year.
Further down, SAG and Ciudad B are relegated directly. No play-off, no second chance.
One round left, then it gets serious
There’s a single regular round left, this Sunday 25 October, and it still matters. The six quarter-finalists behind the top two — Ciudad A, Mitre, GEBA and Ducilo among them — are playing for seeding and pairings, and nobody wants the hardest draw.
After that the road is set: quarter-finals 7-8 November, semi-finals 14-15 November where San Fernando and Banco Provincia rejoin the party, and both the men’s and women’s finals on Saturday 21 November at the Parque Olímpico.
The calendar in full: Metropolitano finals day is set for 21 November, and all our league coverage sits in the Leagues hub.
