Stevens Shut Out Misericordia 2-0 and Stand One Win From a Fourth Straight MAC Freedom Title

Stevens don’t do drama in November. They just win.

The top-seeded Ducks shut out Misericordia 2-0 in Wednesday’s MAC Freedom semifinal, per Stevens athletics, and the scoreline barely tells the story. Stevens outshot Misericordia 10-3 and held a 5-0 edge in shots on goal. Read that again. Misericordia didn’t manage a single shot on target all game. Early scoring plus a defence that gave up nothing, that’s how you reach a final without ever looking troubled.

Misericordia arrived with momentum too. They’d just run away from Arcadia 4-0 to reach this semifinal. But Stevens are a different problem, and they showed why they’re chasing a fourth straight conference title. One more win on Saturday and the streak rolls on.

The final opponent wasn’t confirmed at the time of writing, with the other semifinal still to be settled on Wednesday. Whoever it is, they’ll have watched this one and known exactly what they’re up against: a team that scores early, defends in numbers, and doesn’t give you a sniff. For our money, stopping Stevens from making it four in a row looks like the hardest job left in the MAC Freedom bracket.
