EYHL Men: Avoca Win 2-1 at Cork in the Only Finished Game as Ireland’s Saturday Card Waits
Ireland’s men’s EYHL card on Saturday has one result so far, and it’s an away win. Avoca beat Cork 2-1, taking the points on the road by a single goal. One-goal away wins are the ones that build a season, and Avoca will be pleased with this one.
The rest of the card was still shown as scheduled at the late check, not finished, so this piece claims nothing about those games. Monkstown against Three Rock Rovers, Corinthian against Banbridge, Portrane against Pembroke Wanderers and YMCA against Lisnagarvey were all still to come on the scores as checked. The women’s card was in the same boat, apart from the one game already covered on Saturday: Portadown’s 3-2 win at Old Alex.
So Avoca stand alone for now in the men’s league. A 2-1 win at Cork, three points banked while everyone else waits. The full Irish picture will have to wait for the morning scan, when the rest of Saturday’s card has actually been played.
