Friday Night Lights in Köln: Rot-Weiss Host Uhlenhorst Mülheim in Last Home Game of the Field Season
Friday night hockey, floodlights on, and a little bit of end-of-season emotion thrown in.
Rot-Weiss Köln’s men host Uhlenhorst Mülheim at the REWE Sportpark on Friday (19:30 CEST), and the club are billing it as exactly what it is: their last home game of the 2026 field season. One more night in front of their own crowd before the outdoor calendar closes.
Köln come into it with something to prove, too. Their European run ended in the EHL ROUND1 in Eindhoven earlier this month, knocked out on goal difference despite beating Slavia Prague 5-0 and drawing 2-2 with Royal Orée. A side that good doesn’t finish a season quietly, and Mülheim are walking into the kind of atmosphere nobody enjoys as a visitor.
The weekend around it
The Köln women get their own farewell on Sunday, hosting Düsseldorfer HC at 12:00 CEST in their last home game of the year, so the REWE Sportpark gets a proper closing weekend. The rest of the men’s Bundesliga round spills across the weekend too, with the Hamburg derby and Sunday’s final rematch between Hamburger Polo and Mannheimer the headline acts.
Hard to look past Köln for Friday’s storyline, though. Last home game, lights on, a point to prove after Europe. That’s the recipe for a loud one.
