Eindhoven Gets the Lot: EHL Finals 2027 Confirmed for Oranje-Rood, Men and Women Together
Europe’s biggest club weekend now has a home, and it’s the same place that’s just had a very good week.
The Euro Hockey League has confirmed that its 2027 Finals will be played at HC Oranje-Rood in Eindhoven from 24 to 29 March 2027. It’s the 20th edition of the EHL, and for the first time the men and women will play a double Final 12 at the same venue, on the same Easter weekend.
That’s 32 matches in six days. Sixteen men’s, sixteen women’s, straight knockout, one venue. Plus the EHL’s Hockey ID tournament and the U14 events running alongside it. Eindhoven isn’t hosting a tournament, it’s hosting a festival.
Why Eindhoven got it
The audition went well, you’d have to say. Oranje-Rood hosted the men’s Round 1 pools last weekend, 9 to 11 October, and the home club won their way into the Final 12 while they were at it. The other Round 1 qualifiers were Royal Orée of Belgium, Ireland’s Lisnagarvey and Austria’s SV Arminen.
The EHL’s chairman said the Round 1 weekend worked as a live test of the club’s organisation and hospitality, and the test was passed. Hard to argue. The club, the city and the province of North Brabant are all backing the finals, and the World Cup crowds in the Netherlands this summer showed what Dutch hockey crowds do when you give them a big event.
What happens next
The draw. It takes place on Monday 19 October, when every qualified club finds out its route to the final. The full match schedule and ticket details follow after that.
For our money, the double Final 12 is the right call. The women’s EHL has been growing fast, SCHC are the defending champions on that side and Kampong hold the men’s title, and putting both finals weekends in one place gives fans six days of the best club hockey anywhere. If you’re picking one club trip next spring, it’s this one.
