Colgate Sweep the Final Patriot League Weekly Awards as the Season Closes

Colgate didn’t just end their season well. They ended it by taking every award on offer.

Four Raiders picked up the final week’s Patriot League honours after the season finale, a clean sweep that says a lot about how this group finished. Morgan Willis was named Forward of the Week, Lauren Widdowson Midfielder of the Week, Olivia Milia Rookie of the Week and Kennedy Glinn Goalkeeper of the Week.

Willis, the team’s leading scorer, grabbed her first Forward of the Week award of the season by scoring the insurance goal in a 3-1 win over Holy Cross. She finished her Colgate career with 10 goals this season and 24 in total, plus eight assists for 56 career points. That’s a career worth remembering, not just a good week.

Widdowson did the midfield job properly. She converted a penalty corner for the opening goal with her only shot of the game, then inserted the late corner that set up the go-ahead goal. She closed her own collegiate career with a season-high six goals and six assists, and nine goals in total across her time at Colgate.

Then the future. Freshman Milia won Rookie of the Week for the second time this season after a coast-to-coast run in the 53rd minute ended with her beating the goalkeeper one-on-one for the game-winner against Holy Cross. Back-to-back game-winners to finish her first season, four goals and two assists in all. Colgate’s next few years just got a lot more interesting.

And behind all of it, Glinn. The sophomore goalkeeper took Goalkeeper of the Week for the third time this season, and the second week running, after playing all 60 minutes, making six saves and keeping her save percentage at .800 for the season with a 5-6 record. She even started the move that led to Colgate’s second goal with a penalty corner save and a full-field transition.

Four awards, four different players, one team finishing on a high. That’s how you sign off a season.
