Buenos Aires Take Both Titles at the Argentino de Selecciones
Buenos Aires did the double in Córdoba. The province’s selections won both the men’s and the women’s titles at the Argentino de Selecciones 2026, played 14–18 October, and the Argentine confederation confirmed the clean sweep on 19 October.
The Argentino de Selecciones is the one that actually matters in Argentine domestic hockey. It’s province against province, the best players from the club season pulled into regional sides, and winning one title is a big deal. Winning both in the same week is a statement about where the depth is.
It also lands at an interesting moment. The Metropolitano club season, which feeds these provincial sides, is in its decisive weeks, and the national teams are regrouping for the Pro League. Buenos Aires supplying champions on both sides of the draw is the kind of thing selectors notice.
Our take
No surprises here, really. Buenos Aires has the deepest player pool in the country by a distance. The question is whether this dominance is good for Argentine hockey or just papering over the gap to the other provinces. For now, though, it’s their week. Both trophies go east.
