Quilmes Are Back Up, Boca Lost at Last, and 23 Teams Are Already Promoted in the Women’s Metropolitano
One round is still left in the women’s Torneo Metropolitano, and the promotion picture is already basically done. Twenty-three clubs have secured a move up for 2027, from the top of the Buenos Aires pyramid all the way down to the G divisions. Here’s the shape of it.
Quilmes take the big one
The promotion that matters most is the one out of B. Quilmes A confirmed it back on 22 September, which puts one of Argentine hockey’s traditional names back in the top flight next season. In a league system this deep, getting out of B is the hardest jump of the lot, and Quilmes did it with weeks to spare.
Below that, the famous shirts keep appearing. River Plate are up from D1, confirmed 3 October. Alemán de Quilmes were the last side to lock a promotion in, from D2 on 17 October. San Carlos A are up from D3.
Boca lost. It changed nothing.
Boca Juniors A secured promotion from E4 on 19 September. Three weeks later they lost a hockey match for the first time in three years: Everton de La Plata beat them 3-0 on 12 October, ending an 80-match unbeaten run that stretched across consecutive promotions since Boca entered the Metropolitan structure.
That’s the stat of the Argentine season, honestly. Eighty games without a defeat, at any level, is absurd consistency. Everton, who drew 3-3 with Boca in La Plata back in May, are promoted from E4 themselves, confirmed 11 October. They’ll both go up knowing exactly how the other plays.

San Carlos and San Fernando each put two teams up. Ducilo, whose men grabbed the last top-flight playoff place last week, have a women’s side promoted too. Some clubs are just having a year.
One round remains, and a few places are still to be settled at the edges. But the map of Buenos Aires women’s hockey in 2027 is already drawn, and it has Quilmes back at the top table, which is where a lot of people will tell you they belong.
